The Future of Libraries

One article that I found facinating was Away From Icebergs by Rick Anderson. He pointed out that librarians in the future will need to help the public find information in the best places possible (the web) and will need to be able to teach others how to connect to info and each other in all ways including blogs, RSS, photographs, videos, and podcasts. He also recognized that our teacher/student ratio is presently terrible; the implication is that more librarians will be needed in the future to improve that ratio, but these librarians will also have to be much more techno-intelligent. We all have a long way to go to get to the point where we can teach our public how to get the most information from the web.
